Growing Up Malay in London
It's pretty cool being Malay growing up in this city. You get the awesome of both worlds - the energetic atmosphere and all the mouthwatering food, but also that strong sense of community and culture. It's not always easy, you know? Sometimes people don't comprehend our traditions or maybe they make dumb assumptions about us. But overall, I wouldn't trade it for the world. There's so much love in being Malay, especially when you see so many kids like yourself doing well.
It's truly awesome to see all the unique aspects of our culture honored here. From events to mouthwatering food stalls, it's always lively. Plus, we have amazing community centers where everyone can come together and just relax.
It makes me happy to be Malay in this city. There's a lot of love, and that's what truly matters.
